You already know sugar is one of the most damaging substances you can put into your body. But like we’ve told Health Watch readers for years… High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is even worse. No matter how Big Food tries to spin it. And a new study reveals it only takes two weeks—not a lifetime—for HFCS to start destroying your heart health.

Researchers at the University of California, Davis looked wanted to see how HFCS influences risk factors for heart disease. Subjects were given fruit drinks with different levels of the sweetener. Some got drinks without any. Others got enough from each beverage to account for 25% of their total calories for the day. Here’s what they found…

After just two weeks, subjects consuming HFCS-sweetened beverages saw significant increases in risk factors for heart disease. These included triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, and uric acid levels. And the more HFCS each subject got…the worse shape they were in:

The results speak for themselves… It doesn’t take long for HFCS to start putting your heart health on the line. And it starts with the amount you’d get from about 1.5 cans of soda a day.1

True, the differences between the 10% and 18% groups weren’t too bad… But look at the jumps between the 10% and 25% groups. The people getting the most HFCS doubled their increase in LDL cholesterol. And they doubled their triglycerides.

Now consider this…

The group drinking HFCS-free beverages saw no increases in these risk factors.

In fact, their fasting LDL levels dropped by 1 ng/mL on average.2 But it’s important to point out that their drinks were sweetened with aspartame. So while their heart disease risk factors may not have gone up… they were raising their lymphoma risk by up to 30%.3

In other words, there are better ways to protect your heart from HFCS.

Start by getting rid of the processed foods and other sources of HFCS in your diet. Swap these out for heart-healthy foods like farm-fresh eggs and organic blueberries.4 And make sure you’re staying active. Just 10 minutes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) may cut your risk of dying from heart complications in half.5 But these aren’t the only natural heart protectors at your disposal…

Our researchers pinpointed one substance that can help decrease heart risk by up to 15% in just three months…and 13 specific foods that give you more of it. They’ve uncovered a powerful vitamin that can help cut your risk of heart attack by up to 33%… And they’ve tracked down a 10-minute test that can help pinpoint your risk of heart attack death—so you can take action today.

If you want to protect your heart, I urge you to learn more now.
