A new study found that sucralose, the artificial sweetener sold as Splenda, causes leukemia in lab animals.

Cancer Scientists: Give Up This Artificial Sweetener Now

If you needed any more evidence that artificial sweeteners are just as bad as sugar, now you have it. A new study links a popular zero-calorie sweetener to leukemia.

Italian researchers found that mice fed Splenda develop leukemia.1

The results are so terrifying that the consumer watchdog group Center for Science in the Public Interest took action. It moved Splenda to its list of the most dangerous foods. Splenda is the brand name for sucralose. It was downgraded from “caution” to “avoid.”2

In the study, one group of mice were fed sucralose, another was not. The mice fed sucralose daily developed leukemia. And the more of it they ate, the greater their risk.3

The research confirms scientists’ worst fears. Earlier studies also hinted at the health dangers of sucralose:4

  • A 2002 study showed that Splenda leads to DNA damage in mice. This damage can lead to cancer.
  • Research in 2008 found Splenda can cause irritable bowel syndrome. It kills off gut bacteria needed for proper digestion.

Hidden Dangers Inside Low-Calorie Treats

Millions of Americans use sucralose each day. They believe it is a less-fattening alternative to sugar. But research shows that’s not true. Artificial sweeteners cause weight gain, not loss.5

Even if you are not shaking these little packets into your coffee, you could still be ingesting sucralose. Over 4,500 low-cal products use it as a sweetener. They include diet sodas, ice creams, and frozen desserts.

What should you do? Definitely don’t go back to sugar. We recently told you how it fuels the spread of breast cancer.

And other artificial sweeteners are tied to a host of health problems:

Saccharin (brand names include Sweet and Low, Sweet Twin)

Rats fed saccharin developed bladder cancer. Common reactions in people include headaches and diarrhea.6

Aspartame (brand names include Nutrasweet, Equal)

It’s linked to cancer in lab animals, although not in humans.7 It’s also tied to poor memory. Babies born to mothers who consume it face a higher risk of metabolic syndrome.8

Acesulfame potassium, or “Ace K” (brand names include Sunette, Sweet One)

Methylene chloride, one of its main chemical components, has been shown to impair liver and kidney function.9

We recommend three natural sweeteners that come without the health risks of sugar or lab-created chemicals. They are raw honey, blackstrap molasses, and stevia.

There’s one other thing you should know about avoiding cancer… A small group of holistic doctors were quietly discovering cancer breakthroughs.

Then, when word of their effective therapies started getting out, something terrible started happening… The doctors started disappearing.
