Omega-3s: ANOTHER Lifesaving Benefit

In All Health Watch, Diet and Nutrition, General Health, Weight Loss

Omega-3s are one of the single best supplements you can take for your overall health and vitality.

And trust me, I’ve talked about them A LOT.

They are good for your eyes, your brain, your heart, and they even fight chronic inflammation linked to countless diseases…

Just to name a few!

But just when you thought that omega-3s couldn’t possibly do more to live up to its reputation as a ‘wonder’ supplement…

Science has thrown us another bone!

Because a new study has uncovered yet ANOTHER lifesaving benefit to taking omega-3s.

Reduce Your Risk of FALLS with Omega-3s

According to a recent study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, omega-3s can reduce the risk of falls among elderly adults.

This is important because it’s reported that nearly 36 MILLION older adults fall each year. And the older you get, your risk of falling only increases – which could lead to serious injury, hospitalization, and even DEATH.

The study looked at nearly 2,000 seniors who reported falling a combined total of more than 3,300 times over three years (that’s frightening!).

Researchers found that just ONE GRAM of omega-3s per day cut the total number of falls by 10%.

Ten percent doesn’t seem like a lot, but considering it only takes one fall to potentially send you to the emergency room, any reduction is a good thing!

And the more omega-3s folks took, the risk of falling lowered even more… upwards of 17%!

It should be noted that suddenly taking omega-3s isn’t going to reduce your risk of falls overnight. Remember, the study was over the course of three years.

However, it does highlight that taking omega-3s over the long haul does wonders for your body – including lowering your chances of a nasty fall.

So, if you’re already on an omega-3 regimen, keep it going!

If you haven’t started incorporating omega-3s into your diet, now’s a great time to have a conversation with your doctor about how to best add them in.
